From June 15th to September 30th, 2023, the entire city transforms into a grand stage to bring to life “Le due Bari,” a project financed for a total of €1,513,985. Specifically, €553,911 comes from the General Directorate of Entertainment of MiC (Ministry of Culture), and €960,074 is provided through PON Metro resources, to realize live entertainment activities in the peripheral areas of the city of Bari.
Designed with the aim of enhancing the expertise of the live performance sector and identifying beneficiaries among cultural operators with significant experience, the program is implemented by entities recognized by the FUS (Single Fund for Entertainment) and live entertainment entities operating for at least three years.
The project ideally brings together the city center and its outskirts, offering over 350 free events, including shows and workshops, in the squares and gathering places of the 5 districts of Bari. The program features a diverse range of music, theater, dance, circus arts, and cinema, with a particular focus on activities for children. The winning projects of the call for proposals, curated by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Bari, have proposed a diverse and innovative cultural program spread throughout the territory. From mid-June to September, this program forms the schedule of numerous free initiatives designed and promoted for the community’s benefit.
One of the key elements of “Le due Bari” is the involvement of citizens and social entities present in the territory, aiming to revitalize especially the peripheral areas of the city while simultaneously increasing attractiveness for visitors (with positive economic effects as well).
The chosen symbol for promoting the program is the “Ponte Adriatico” (Adriatic Bridge), a unique architectural masterpiece that connects two parts of the city along the North-South axis. In this case, it symbolizes the connection between the city center, where a significant portion of the activities takes place, and the other cultural spaces scattered throughout the city.

Conceived with the aim of enhancing the expertise of the sector of Live performance Identifying the beneficiaries among cultural operators with significant experience, the program is therefore implemented by entities recognized by the FUS (Single Fund for Entertainment) and entities operating in the live entertainment sector for at least three years.
Il progetto unisce idealmente centro e periferie portando oltre 160 eventi gratuiti, tra spettacoli e laboratori, nelle piazze e nei luoghi di aggregazione dei 5 Municipi di Bari, con un programma articolato che include musica, teatro, danza, arti circensi e cinema, con un focus dedicato all’infanzia.
Uno degli elementi chiave de Le due Bari è il coinvolgimento dei cittadini e delle realtà sociali presenti sul territorio con l’obiettivo di rivitalizzare specie le aree periferiche della città generando al contempo una maggiore attrattività anche per i visitatori (con effetti positivi anche economici).
I progetti aggiudicatari del bando, curato dall’assessorato alle Culture del Comune di Bari, hanno proposto un’articolata e inedita programmazione culturale diffusa sul territorio che, da fine luglio fino a metà novembre, compone il cartellone delle tante iniziative gratuite ideate e promosse in favore della comunità.
